（中央社波士頓13日電）出訪過境休士頓遭質疑禮遇規格下降，總統馬英九今天表示，沒有，就他的了解可能比以前還好，大概是歷次出訪禮遇最好。
馬總統率團出訪瓜地馬拉與貝里斯，美國時間上午9時20分飛抵波士頓過境，晚間7時出席僑宴。
面對媒體詢問是否因登太平島，美方只讓馬總統過境休士頓？馬總統說，他過去出訪，專機曾到休士頓加油，但沒見僑胞，這是第一次正式過境休士頓，「這是我們自己要的」。
馬總統表示，這8年來出訪過境，美國西岸去很多，連西雅圖都去了，東岸去過紐約、波士頓，剩下美南，這次特別到休士頓。
陪同出訪的外交部長林永樂說，台美關係8年來確實持續成長，這次順利過境是最好的說明。美國在台協會主席薄瑞光（Raymond Burghardt）也專程歡迎馬總統，向馬總統提到這8年來台美關係是最好時期，這是事實。
相關官員透露，馬總統過境休士頓期間，安全維護由美國秘密勤務局接手，全程警車開道、交管，下午參訪台塑廠時還首度在高速公路閘道口「封路交管」。
談到參訪台塑德州廠，林永樂說，台塑是台灣在美國最大投資，這幾年來，美方一直希望台灣加強經貿，過去2、3年台塑對美國投資也持續增加。
林永樂說，這次參觀台塑廠區，可看出台塑獲得的重視，包括美國眾議員、當地市長與郡長都歡迎。1050313
